Before going any further, I have to thank everyone who contributed to SickKids Hospital: Kelly C., Mike, Miss Zippy, Molly, Mabel’s Labels and others who did their bit to support Kids Running For Kids Virtual 1K Run. I set the bar high – at $250 – and I’m sure that between garage sales and another fall race, I can reach my goal. If you wish to donate to SickKids Hospital in Toronto, click here.
Tuesday was the last day of school for kids. After getting home, Skipper and I got in our last run together, meaning my last run without having to push the jogger, before heading out to the airport to pick up Daddy and my little running hero. Tomorrow, the upper body strength begins again.
Wednesday was busy as I had two goals that I was driven to meet. First, I had to leave work at 3:00 to begin summer – and I had to make sure I wouldn’t have to go back to school on Friday to finish up. Mission accomplished. Of course, I will be going in next week (my job does seem endless) but it’s because I want to, not because I have to. Secondly, sometime between school and coaching soccer for a group of ten year old boys, I had to get food in the fridge to feed the family. Let’s face it, with half of the house missing for two weeks, our fridge was half bare. And, with yesterday being a holiday, this task was even more important as it wouldn’t be one night but two days of whining, complaining and hungry males. Fait accompli!
So, as of yesterday, I am in summertime mode. The vacation started with a race yesterday (report coming) and an afternoon at the pool today, and lots and lots of running and more outdoor play. Summer is here.
I love afternoons on the pool.
In fact, I'm still suffering from the last one two days ago.
