Tomorrow morning, I’ll be running the Acura 5K in Toronto. This is one race that I’m not taking too seriously; after all, I’ve been off for 6 weeks. But I registered for it (months ago) so I’m going to use it as a baseline. I need an accurate gauge of where I am in my fitness right now; I need to set some goals for the rest of the fall and can’t do that without really knowing.
Fortunately, I’m no longer in the purple corral with the 32+ minute runners; I’m in the yellow with the 22 minute runners. I’m hoping that I’ll finish just under 22 minutes – doable, I think.
I’ll know whether I’m right in 12 more hours.
