Niagara-Bound

I’ve put in the miles.  I’ve done the speed work.   I’m exactly where I want to be right now.  In fact, I don’t think that I’ve ever felt stronger.  Bring it on!

When I first thought about registering for the Niagara Falls half-marathon, friends warned me about the likelihood of horrible weather.  “But it’s fall,” I thought, “and you can end up with bad weather anywhere.”   I liked the idea of running Niagara because it is so close to home.  Besides, after having a DNS a few years ago (due to pneumonia), getting back there has been a bit of a monkey on my back.  So, on Sunday morning, I will be toeing the line in Niagara.  And, then, I plan to tear up that course.

My gear is washed and hanging dry.  The must-have items (puffer, shoes, socks, sunglasses, hair elastics and gels) are packed and ready to go.  Mother Nature is on my side as she is still promising near-perfect race conditions on Sunday morning.  I am ready!
